Is there anyway to cancel direct deposit once processed and cut a check instead?

You can cancel a direct deposit payroll depending on its paycheck date. Let me share some information on how it works.

Before anything else, I just want to inform you that earlier this morning, we were alerted to a third-party issue with direct deposit processing that has delayed the deposit of employees' paychecks into their accounts. However, you need not to worry, the issue has been resolved. Your employees should expect to see the funds available in their bank account by end of the day today.

On the other hand, if you choose to continue with cancelling your employee's direct deposit paycheck, you'd want to consider the following:

For two-days lead time processing, make sure you delete it earlier than 5:00 PM Pacific Time, 2 banking days before the paycheck date.
For one-day lead time processing, make sure to delete it earlier than 5:00 PM Pacific Time, the day before the paycheck date.

If the paycheck has been processed beyond those lead time, we can no longer stop the direct deposit process. I'd recommend contacting our Payroll Support team. They have the tools to securely access your account and further assist you with the cancellation of the direct deposit.

On the other hand, you can also do an internal agreement with your employee. You can do either of the following:

Inform the employee about the paycheck and will do an adjustment on the next payroll.
