High School Program

The UNCSA high school program offers young artists the best of all worlds — focused conservatory arts training combined with top-tier academics. We offer a broad, intensive education, where you’ll pursue your passion, develop your craft, and learn to think critically, creatively and collaboratively.

The Conservatory Experience

For a promising young artist, there’s something transformative about living and learning in a vibrant creative community. From small recitals to elaborate productions, you will be inspired and challenged by the rewards and rigors of the professional artistic life. Throughout this extraordinary experience, you will be supported and guided by caring faculty mentors and staff who understand the unique needs of young artists.

The Academic Experience

High school students spend up to half of their time in academic courses with an average student/teacher ratio of 13:1. They are prepared to enter the most competitive four-year colleges and universities should they choose this path.

Foundation for the Future

The Tuition Grant Program provides free college tuition for in-state students graduating from the High School Program. Those graduates who are accepted into and enroll in college full time at a constituent UNC System institution can attend college at UNCSA or any other UNC System institution tuition-free.
